Hi, I’m Teresa, and I am a Support Worker at Young Achievers.

For over a decade I worked with primary aged children and SEND pupils within their education environment; and, whilst it was incredibly rewarding, I was very intrigued by a role being advertised with YA.

I’m sure management can agree, I can be quite persistent when I fancy a new challenge, and in December ’23, I was welcomed as part of the team. (A team I adore and feel totally supported by. Bring on those NVQ flash cards!)

I am a mum of 5 children, all grown up now, but I do know first-hand what our young people face on a day-to-day and regular occurance.

Ensuring our care leavers have the best possible start to their adult journey is incredibly important to me, mostly because I can genuinely empathise with them all, I was a child in care too.

It’s because of the above that I want to make certain that our young people are constantly learning, adapting to challenges and all strive towards embracing healthy independent living.
