OZ

Director of Young Achievers Ltd

I started at the age of twenty one fostering and did so for forty years including supportive lodging. I worked as a residential support worker from 1986 for National Children’s Homes.

I started a new post as assistant manager for Devon County Children’s Home in 1990,  becoming a manager in 1995.

In 2002 I became senior manager for all of Devon’s children’s homes. Responsible for all homes under OFSTED regulations.

During this period I managed and set up professional foster carers for Devon. I also set up supportive lodging in family homes and supported living for 16 plus YPs needing 24 hour support.

In 2013 I went into 16 plus accommodation privately due to Devon county decision to use private sector.

I am an experienced children’s services professional with over 40 years of dedicated service in fostering, residential support, and management. I have an extensive background in children’s homes and foster care settings, with a proven track record of enhancing service delivery in line with OFSTED regulations.

Skilled in establishing and managing supportive lodging and independent living arrangements for young people aged 16 and over, ensuring their transition to adulthood is well-supported.

I have demonstrated the ability to lead teams, drive compliance, and deliver high-quality care solutions tailored to the needs of vulnerable children.
