JOCK
House Manager Kingsteignton
Born in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, I joined the Royal Marines in March 1976, where I completed 23 years of dedicated service, achieving the rank of Colour Sergeant. My military background instilled in me a strong leadership ethos, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.
After my military career, I transitioned to social care, where I’ve spent over 20 years working with young people and vulnerable populations. My experience includes working as an Unpaid Work Supervisor for the probation service, as well as serving as a Residential Support Worker for Devon County Council.
In this capacity, I’ve worked in semi-independent care homes, providing essential support and guidance to individuals transitioning to more independent living. I hold a Level 3 qualification in health and social care and am currently enrolled in the NVQ Level 5 program to further enhance my professional skills.
Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to the welfare and development of young people, particularly through my work with Devon Children’s Services. My extensive experience and training reflect my dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those I help support.
